  • Draw the landscape of the poem
    • pay close attention to what is an actual description (imagery) and what is a metaphor or simile.
    • Label all items if you don't feel confident I will recognize them.
    • This is NOT about artistic skill, but about accuracy.

Caedmon's Hymn Assignment

  1. Copy the hymn to your notes (handwritten)
  2. Read it aloud to yourself or friend
  3. DO NOT look up the translation online.
  4. I MEAN IT.
  5. Write down all the words you recognize or think you recognize.
  6. Be ready to show your work in class.
